When horror movies collide:Night of the Living Dead and The Grapes of Wrath...
It's what's happening now and what is about to happen. Our night of the living dead is our Bush's and Cheney's and Ashcroft's and Negroponte's....every frikkin evil thing that subverted the ideal that was America since Watergate and EVEN before through every administration since the first election I could vote in (1972)....foul fascist and illegal acts and never ONCE were the prime movers held to account-picture Watergate taken thru prosecutions-farewell Cheney and Rumsfeld in Oh say, 1974. George Bush, John Ashcroft, and Negroponte...all indicted for Iran Contra....Ronald Reagan indicted and removed from office for treason for negotiating the "October Surprise"...A little truth and backbone from the MSM could have prevented George W from having become a "viable candidate" but had his father been in jail, where he belonged after his crimes in Central America there never would have been a glimmer of hope for the criminal miasma we now live under...We have lived our lives in a zombie movie and now we learn the cost of never fully destroying the undead...
But "The Grapes of Wrath"? A horror movie? Were about to find out...If we "win" our Tom Joads will be forced to kill oppressors and if we lose evil will continue and we will all of us slide to serfdom.Rose 'o Sharon will be your Mom or Dad or sibling or spouse without food, without shelter, without healthcare, and ultimately without even human dignity...And with our recently enacted laws Henry Fonda's speech may be moot.
Our Country is every bit as dysfunctional as South Africa before apartheid was abolished and we equally will need a reconciliation commission to face our flaws and the criminality of our recent history. Our future will be hard, but need not be hopeless-the pie called America is smaller than advertised, but still large enough if we divide it fairly....,
