Does Sen John McCains Wife Have An "Adams Apple?”
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 11:56 AM by pwdgroup
Ok folks, I have not been on this forum for very long, and this may not be the best of questions to ask, BUT,,,, I was watching Fox news this morning and when they showed a side shot of Mrs. McCain, I swear it looked like she had an “Adams Apple,” which I always thought is not characteristic of women. I researched some online pictures of her and they actually portray what appears to be an adam’s apple.

Just curious,

Sam

1. Jesus, this again? First with the "Mann Coulter", now this?
Why is it so popular to ridicule people for not perfectly fitting the expected gender role?

And assuming that a person was a transsexual, why is that a bad thing?

2. adam's apple
the size of an adams apple (or an eve's peach on a woman) generally is larger the deeper ones voice is.

Most woman have an "eve's peach" but often you cannot see it on them unless they have very thin necks.

3. Everyone has voice box. Some people have one that shows
In general, men's are larger and thus more visible.
But on anyone with a skinny neck it's going to show.

You're not sexist, at least to my knowledge, I take you at your word, but...

7. The best way to avoid being eaten alive on any forum
is to think about how you phrase your questions. I'll take you at your word that you really are just curious and suggest a couple of ways you could have phrased this question.

First - drop the "transvestite" remark completely. It's antagonising on its face - and incorrect simply because a transvestite is not the same as a trans-gendered individual, which seems to the allusion you were seeking. BUT bottom line, if it doesn't "matter", why mention it at all?

That's just asking to get flamed.

Second - drop the "facelift" remark completely. Again, it only sounds like you're trying to sneak in a nasty remark about the woman.

Third - try for a more "honestly questioning" tone. Rather than suggesting that a particular woman has an adam's apple, simply ask the question: "Is it common for women to have an adam's apple?"

This is, of course, assuming you were sincerely curious and not making a stealth attack on the wife of a candidate in the presidential race. If you want to do that, stick to the issues and leave the appearance alone.
