|
played on the MSM air nowadays, and why it was so poor--can anyone point me to it?

|
I too missed the original and want to lambaste the cookie cutout crap that composes 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999991% of today's music.

4. Hell I wouldn't know about the popular music cause I'm a Blues Man |
|
If one isn't a blues listener one would be susprised what they were doing 40, 50 and some 60 years ago, some damn good assed music. But if I remember correctly we had the same bitch you have today all the way back to the early '60s, m$m music sucks no matter the time frame methinks

generally the more people that like a musical group the worse the group actually is.

6. hadn't thought of it that way but you may be right |
|
its hard to please many, all at the same time or it looks to me like it would, and if they are then yes chances are they aren't very good at any one thing. What amazes me is how much influence the blues had on people like Hendrixs, the Beatles, Clapton, hell most all the 70s and 80s rockers.

11. There's plenty of great pop music being made. |
|
You just have to go to independent labels to find it.
MSM anything blows chunks.

Pop music is about nothing but glamor and bling bling. Its stupid IMO. Pretty much all pre-teens to 20 somethings listen to it. Hell I'm 21 and cant stand it.

14. Lol, I just had my 11 year old daughter here at my computer |
|
making her listen to some Patty Smith, the album Horses, and giving her a little lesson on music. I've been really getting into old Tom Waites like the album 'Closing Time' and 'The Heart of Saturday Night', re-listening to Dylan's 'Slow Train Coming', his Born Again phase.
Been telling both my girls, ages 11-7 that that the pop music is sugar, it will give you a sugar high, but you'll forget it in a year. The music I'm making them listen to is 30 years, 20 years + old and will stand the test of time because it comes from the heart. And ANY type of music can be good as long it comes from the same place.
Like the Bill Hicks observation, "But daddy, the man has a blood bubble coming out his nose! Shut up and listen to him play!!!!!!!!!"
