A snapshot of the Greatest page: 233 GD-P threads, and only 122 non-GD-P threads...

I used the {search for "primaries" and highlight them} method. This actually undercounts the GD-P threads because of news stories about, e.g. "Canadians defend Obama", "Gov. Christ weighs in on Dem delegates".

I have tried to get along with your greatly appreciated filtering of these posts into GD-P. But, as the statistics in the title show, it simply isn't enough.

As I have said in the past, this primary horseshit is a Distributed Denial of Service attack upon those of us who come to DU for purposes other than adolescent name-calling and meaningless wanking about their groupie object of worship.

5. That does NOT work for me. When I go to Preferences, it only says it will block Latest...

it says nothing about Greatest, and indeed, Greatest is still infested.

Here is what I see on my preferences page:

Hide General Discussion: Primaries from the Latest page?
Selecting "yes" will remove threads from GD: P from the Latest page

Am I doing something wrong? Looking at the wrong preferences?

I used to check it out on days that I don't have time to sit and brouse DU at leasure... Now it is a complete waste of time..

Seems to me just about everybody here was on board with that suggestion when it came up a few weeks back.

Overwhelming opinion, not to mention a pronounced request for action by membership, should count for something I should think.

The Greatest Page should be just that - stories and posts that have a shelf life of MORE than 5 minutes.

16. While I agree, what we have now is workable. The preference setting eliminates GD-P from Greatest.

Think of it as two separate Greatest pages. One for wankers, and one for people with a life.
