why does the RW continue to hate the ACLU |
|
The ACLU frequently defends the rights of wingnuts and other nazis?
They are just a reflexive, iconic whipping boy for the right, seems to me.

1. The ACLU defends the Constitution and... |
|
the RW hates the Constitution (except the 2nd Amendment). This was another edition of easy answers to easy questions.

2. Creating common enemies is what the right wing does best. |
|
Once they're convinced of something, they stubbornly refuse to reconsider. (Frankly, I think some remedial reading is in order.)

3. Because The ACLU Believes EVERYONE Deserves Civil Rights |
|
Not just the Right Wingers. And if everyone was treated equally, where would their superior Right Winger advantage go? What would distinguish them, and make other people envy or copy them, and earn them special treatment from politicians, judges, and corporations? How could they hold any sway over society?
No, better by far if the ACLU was disbanded, and then Might would make Right.

4. Because they need someone to hate and once they have found a target they stick with it |
|
Pretty simple actually. They need objects to hate, they need to focus hatred. Once they have people fixated on a hated thing there is no reason to get them to stop.

9. It's pretty simple. "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" |
|
;)
"All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" vAll rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!" "All rethugs are idiots. Republicons are not to be trusted!"
Just keep repeating that to yourself and your neighbors and friends and you'll all get it... eventually.
Hopefully before the primary and the November elections. ;)

12. Because 30+ years of right winger radio told them to |
|
just like they are supposed to hate:
conservation unions liberals any regulatory agency lawyers aid to the poor
and any group that fosters policies that benefit the masses
All of these things cost money , and right wingers don't think their taxes should be used for anything except churches & wars.

They don't like how they try to take religion out of everything mostly. They also don't like suing, unless they are doing the suing.

15. down here in south Florida |
|
some group is running these scurrilous ads scaring voters (that don't know actually) about how reps Tim Mahoney and Ron Klein and Wexler are threatening national security by not giving the Telecoms immunity and the hit back ads are sponsored by the ACLU-it's a big campaign the right is using down here-so maybe that's the reason why it's being seen as a terrorist org. by the RW

17. The ACLU reminds them of what they want to forget. |
|
Despite all their talk about freedom not being free, the right wing suffers from a sense of entitlement a mile wide. Every ACLU activity highlights the universality of rights that the wingers want kept exclusive.

19. the top leaders of the conservative movement (I mean those how go to |
|
those "secret" meetings where strategy is plotted) believe that rights are granted from God only. These are the people that want a theocracy in the USA. They hate the ACLU because the ACLU believes that rights come from the constitution and are enforced by good government.
I think the rubes that spew hate are just regurgitating what they have been spoon fed for years now. If the rightwing hate radio/tv machine told them that cupcakes, kittens and puffy clouds were evil - we would have the conservative minions marching around in circles talking about how cupcakes, kittens and puffy clouds were the cause of everything wrong in the USA.
