Just how big is the democratic landslide going to be this fall?
As I was plowing snow this AM in Columbus, OH this fact hit me.

Both Tom Delay & Denny Hastert's old districts now have democrats
as their Reps in Congress. So much for Karl Rove and his 100 reich
of republican rule.

1. Don't count your chickens
until the votes are counted.

They still have Diebold, Rove, the Swiftboaters, and a huge bag of dirty tricks.

6. We have to win by a margin of victory that puts theft out of the question.
John McCain and his 100 years of war is a non starter.

3. If it's Obama It'll be Huge
He brings alot of new people into the party, including volunteers, donors etc.,

If it's Clinton - none: She'll lose the WH all of those new people will stay home and the House/Senate will be Status Quo

Although I think ( :tinfoilhat: ) that the right wing / big biz
is working 24/7 to keep her in the race.

16. Do you mean they'll do early voting?
Because it's Clinton that will keep young voters, large numbers of African American voters and progressives at home.

19. Much of the USA is not New York or Chicago. It will be a major miracle if Obama can win.
Don't bitch at me, I'm just admitting what a lot of people are afraid to say.

In my opinion Karl's plan actually succeeded, unfortunately its success depended on the wrong guy...go figure !

5. I hope large; but Delay and Hassart were so notorious, it's hard
to tell. We got rid of our entrenched Republican baddie when he made the front page of the Wall Street Journal for his blatant corruption. I'm not sure how the election would have gone otherwise.

9. True Story: When you can over-hear a couple of inhabitants of Cupcake Land (thank you Thomas Frank)
in a McDonald's, on a Saturday morning, talking about how much Bush's War costs and "What about Afghanistan?", amongst other bon mots, while their kids munch on McBreakfast, something significant has changed.

I know it cheered me up a bit. The only thing that would have made me happier would be to have heard them use the word "Murders".

12. Depends on what kind of Democrats are elected.
DLC types who will continue to sell us out or progressives who might actually try and restore our rights and do something about the out of control capitalism that has been allowed to flourish since Reagan was president.

13. Going to be very close, I think
Anti - woman or anti-minority votes will be very comfortable with McCain, if he makes enough ambiguous statements to restore his "independent" image, but not strong enough to drive away the Fundies.

There will be a manufactured "big scare" of dubious timing to benefit McCain.

If our nominee is Clinton - VERY short skirt tails for Congressional races - no matter what she does, she is just not liked or trusted by a big enough majority to benefit other races.

It might be anthrax again, some guys just went to the hospital or something...
Would they do it again??
Yes!
They must do what ever it takes to hold power or else face jail time ask Carl.

25. I still think no Democrat will be allowed to sit on the Imperial Throne.
And it doesn't matter who "votes" for who or how many.

This is not to say we shouldn't vote. After all, I could be wrong and overwhelming the theft with honest votes is the only way left. I fully intend to "vote" for the Democratic nominee in November.

But I have no illusions about what has happened to this country. W. McBush could lose by 7-8% and still "win", make no mistake about it. Maybe more, since the Bushies have gotten away with Election Fraud so many times, even when they are busted red-handed as they were in FL-13 (Jennings vs. Buchanan) in 2006.

Our own Democratic Leaders helped them sweep it under the rug, I;d say much to my surprise but nothing in this Empire surprises me anymore.
