but he was seen as a major super star when running

Hey, does this mean NY has to stop dissing NJ?

Seriously, this is awful news for Democrats - I suspect that there will be intense scutiny on Democrats over the next half year. This is unbelievable.

Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 01:17 PM by mac2
away from the Neo Cons in NY State. Strange that a man such as Spitzer would do something so stupid. He's been a lawyer so he knows. He was an Attorney General.

There is more to this story. Power, money or bribery...who knows?

Will we get the real story with the country so threatened by Bush gangs and secret societies? The truth is always denied.

What is that? Constant chaos?

31. As stated in another thread on this topic: "HUBRIS" No surprise at all here.
There IS more to this story, and it'll come from Mr. Spitzer himself. He has already ADMITTED involvement. This albatross should hang around his neck and his alone.

I don't believe for a moment that this is a "frame", or a way for neocons to get him out of office.

Time for this hypocritical schmuck to lose his marriage, his job, his public standing, and every perk he's ever pocketed by being in his position. IF, and it's a BIG if, seeing as how he's ADMITTED involvement with a crime he vigorously prosecuted time and again, IF he's somehow innocent, I'll publicly apologize to him right here.

"In one such case in 2004, Mr. Spitzer spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten Island." Way to go, Eliot. Your hypocrisy will do nothing more than make my party look bad. I hope your wife winds up with everything you own. Now go away.

Democratic leader if they don't do as they are told? Yet another example like Martha, Trafactant, Wellstone, etc.?

Let me see wasn't there a prostitution ring at the White House (a male one) but no one was arrested or even investigated? Do politicans think they too can get away with it? Nope. Not if they are Democrats (liberal ones at that).

19. No denying this though (inside)
From NY TIMES:
As attorney general, he also had prosecuted at least two prostitution rings as head of the state’s organized crime task force.

In one such case in 2004, Mr. Spitzer spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten Island.

A) He was horny.
