Spitzer speculation: Did * and his Wall Street buddies just get even |
|
or did they get lucky? And federal wiretapping and FISA maybe? Perhaps Spitzer is being made an example to keep other folks in line during the election.
I should have stock in Reynolds but I have time on my hands now and my brain just went there.

2. Hell, you're not alone! |

I also wonder about warrantless domestic surveillance and use of federal agencies for political purposes.
And what about the lawyers and prosecutors? Were they put in place by RoveBush?

3. Yea....they really needed FISA to a get tap on a whore's phone |
|
Because ordering hookers over the phone was completely legal prior to 9/11.

11. I read recently that since FISA, all US phone calls are routinely routed |
|
overseas first so that the phone companies aren't liable for illegal tapping.

18. Skipping a warrant in a domestic criminal investigation is the *last* thing you would want to do. |
|
Warrantless searches are presumptively unreasonable, and anything flowing from unreasonable searches or seizures is tainted. Basically, good way to wreck your entire case.

4. I don't know, except Gonzales had put a lot of FBI resources into |
|
the investigations of prostitution, human slave trafficking in the sex trades, child pornography etc. My feeling is Spitzer, accidentally caught got in the investigation of the escort service.
But who knows with this fascist regime?

If I'm under criminal investigation, I hope like hell they didn't bother to get warrants.

7. I bet they did but I think this is about power. |
|
I frankly do not care what these people do if it is not on our money and is legal. I do think they seem to let their power do what they can get away with. Maybe we should put him in Congress and he would feel at home with all the others who stay on the job after making their poor wife stand beside them as they ask us to let them keep their powerful jobs. Real fun.

13. And any talk of conspiracy is going to make us look stupid. |
|
When Craig gets nailed for wiping the hand under a toilet wall it's clearly criminal. But when our guy gets nailed in a legit operation it's a conspiracy? Can you see how weak this looks? Let's say it was a conspiracy to get Spitzer. Did he or did he not commit the crime? He has just turned himself into toxic goods. He got caught with his pants down and his dick out. So it's time to grit our teeth. The less BS we offer as excuses, the better we'll be. The faster it will pass. If he did the crime, let HIM do the time.
he betrayed not only his family, but his party. Screw him. Time to move on.

There would be no "conspiracy theories" if there weren't any Conspiracies. . Just because something hasn't already been proven to your satisfaction doesn't mean it's not true. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=3222574&mesg_id=3222574
