The context of the Spitzer story. The NYT says he was informed on 3/07. On that day: |

1. They're discussing this on Tweety now |

Good to know Tweety can give up the horse race for a scandal when it's not associated with Bushco.
I just wish they'd be honest and say he was caught with a prostitute and stop trying to spin it like he was part of some prostitute ring.

6. Who knows that he wasn't? Spitzer knew the score (heh). I'm thinking there's a yet-unknown quid pro |

quo: the quid being his dough and non-prosecution for their quo, the dames.

2. "wire transfers to QAT Consulting" instead of The Emperor's Club |
|
OK, if he was using state money for that one, he needs to go.
Otherwise, he's just another garden variety hypocrite. Every time one of those antisex or antidrug nanny staters is outed as doing what he's preaching against to the rest of us, it harms their case for keeping it illegal.

4. He's NOT just a garden variety hypocrite...he proscuted prostitution rings |
|
He had people incarcerated for engaging in the same exact behavior. That's not just your everyday hypocracy.

3. Think About Craig and Vitter |
|
And the time gap between the significant arrests and their public announcements. Larry Craig took a month. Vitter waited until whats-her-face went on trial.
I read the Smoking Gun documents and it looks like Spitzer had needs his wife didn't want to take care of and most wouldn't.
I'm not excusing him. I think he'll step down.
