"As a sex scandal stuns the nation..." |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 09:39 PM by Contrary1
So says the promo for Wednesday's Today Show.
Is anyone here "stunned"? I am sick to death of the media telling me how I feel. I think I'll get a little note out to them telling them to change that to "the nation -1".
Prostitution...the media should know all about that subject. After all, they are the real pros.
Oh yeah, how many troops did we lose today?

A bit disappointed perhaps, but nothing having to do with sex has stunned me in many years.

5. Hey, its all scintillating/titillating. .Americans love this shit...revel in it...pay money for it.. |
|
Any movie, story, book, newspaper, magazine, that depicts this will earn money from those paying for it...
We are in love with moot/minutiae especially if it involves Boobs and and a spot of Intrigue

6. Well, Montel lost his job |
|
for trying to talk about the troops. They wouldn't want to risk their cushy jobs and $10,000/year clothing allowances. So, they sell us crap and pass it off for news.

8. I bet you more than 75% of Americans didn't know who Eliot Spitzer was until yesterday |
|
And that may be generous.

Just another example of how far down the tabloid road the TV news has gone. The truth is, no one outside of New York gives a damn about this. Why should they? There have always been these kinds of scandals, and there always will be.

10. Well, I'm so numb after seven eternal years of Cheney/Bush... |
|
...that I really appreciate it when they tell me how to feel. Without the helpful guidance of corporate mass media, I might cry at baseball games and cheer at funerals. So they're really doing me a service.
You too, if you weren't such an ungrateful wretch.

15. Thank you for that slap upside my head. |
|
I needed it. What was I thinking when I made my post? I offer as my humble excuse that I had, for the first time in 2,627 days, accidentally started to sober up. Who knows what may have happened if I had allowed that lapse of judgment to continue beyond how long it took me to get to the nearest liquor store?
I owe you big time Mr. Pease!
Sincerely, Your ungrateful wench wretch.

11. I'm not 'stunned' by sex... what 'stuns' me is the idiocy of the MSM, and |
|
the fact that people actually listen to anything they say.

I suspected that the coverage of this was going to hit Clintonian proportions.
Mainly because he is a Democrat.
Or close enough.

13. Eight US military KIA in the past 48 hours, since you ask . . . 46 Iraqis in latest attacks . . . |
|
Good thing the Today Show's keeping up with what really matters.
I suppose Dr. Phil will be on to offer advice on how to talk to your kids about the Sex Scandal That Stunned The Nation.

Fallon didn't retire. No one died in Iraq. There were no primary elections. And worst of all... Mary Ann didn't get busted for pot.
