20. shaved oiled chests on men? gross!
I'm a very hetero and feminist female and I don't like that look either. I think those guys are vamping for other guys. Most women aren't into men that are that model-y looking. Model-y looking men seem to be self-objectifying and don't look like they're that into protecting women. It's the strong jaw, hairy chest, and rougher around the edges look that most women subconsciously prefer--look at Clooney, Daniel Craig, Russell Crowe. If I'm going put up with the inevitable inequalities of a heterosexual relationship, it's going to be with a guy I think can fight off the bears at night and bring my children back protein. Those guys are too busy preening to fight bears.

A fundamental symmetry and beauty is nice, but as Jim Belushi said to Rob Lowe in _About Last Night,_ "women don't want to go out with men who are prettier than they are."

Actually I think its what some men think women like, though I imagine a lot of the dancers are gay. I've never been to a Chippendales and have no interest, but some women think its fun.

34. just shoring up view that this is generally _not_ women's preference
I appreciate your starting the thread, esp. given the scary way the one went with men talking about renting another human for $5500 and joking about the humiliating and painful things that are done to prostitutes. I know you were just putting the picture in there to complement the poll. I was echoing the other poster's view that we can most certainly be women and not like this 'look,' thass' all. I did go to a Chippendales show once at 22 and yes, every one of the guys was gay.

The brutal sociological truth is that women can "get it" from strangers pretty easily, every day of the week, so why on earth would we pay for it, apart from the fact that we want "to be wanted" more than we "want," and most women can't compartmentalize enough to delude themselves temporarily that a man whom they're paying really wants them.

59. A woman I worked with told me this story-
she was the only woman in her department. About a week before Christmas the manager told them he had a surprise for them and herded everyone into company cars. They were driven an hour and a half away to a resort where there was a bar with (female)strippers. This person was no prude- but this is not something she wanted to do with co-workers.

She went out and sat in the lobby and about a third of her male co-workers joined her. They were embarrassed.

The rest of the guys thought it was great and were getting lap dances... The manager was miffed and asked why the group in the lobby wasn't enjoying their Christmas present.

53. Just to offer another perspecitve
While the guys in this pic do nothing for me, neither to hairy-chested guys who can "fight off the bears at night and bring my children back protein". I like to think we've evolved past those needs so we're all open to explore our own desires and turn-ons. Give me a guy with delicate hands that create art any day.

Just a reminder that "most" women are individuals. ;)

I've seen both the Chippendales and Thunder From Down Under (who are better), and there's no way that they'd cost $5500. Maybe for like 50 of my friends. Thunder only cost me $60 when I saw them in Vegas in January.

9. Best thing about B.O.B.
is that you don't have to cook him breakfast. Second best is that he never tells you that since you're doing your own laundry, you might as well do his (never realizing that is the quickest way to cool down the hottest affair).

I'm not altogether sure what I'd do with it. I have money to spend now that I'm not spending. Knowing me, I'd probably just boogie over to Kiva and make more loans with it.

As one of the posters above said, I bet that the Chippendale's look appeals more to gay men than to women.

I like men who look like men and--this is essential--have a working brain. All three of those guys have the vacant look of pithed frogs, which would disqualify them, even if I liked their physical appearance, which I don't.

Sex with anyone I'm not emotionally involved with is blaah.

You have to have emotional involvement. I hate "pretty boys" glossed up and posing. Not masculine or sexy at all.

However, the only sexual dream I've ever had with a "Hollywood" persona was with Brad Pitt, in the "Legends of the Fall" era. "whew"

54. IRA
Or general savings, if IRA is already maxed out. Guess it isn't surprising that saving it wasn't an option, since we're now spending more than we earn every year: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/01/business/main2422489.shtml (I know there was a similar story this year, but I couldn't find it quickly.)

(Not a criticism of folks who are living on extremely limited means not starving to put money aside for the future - but there are a heck of a lot of people making lots of money who are spending every penny on living now - to heck with the future.)
