Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 09:37 AM by yurbud
It seems ironic that the embarrassing but basically victimless crime of seeing a high-priced call girl gets you chased out of office, but epic corruption, incompetence, destruction of democracy, and a war of aggression to enrich cronies that has killed over a million people doesn't.

1. IOKIYAR
Thank the MSM....how much press did David Vitter get for his "whore" episode? I cannot understand how anyone would not notice the double standards....I do not condone what Spitzer dis, but this event should make everyone reevaluate the media situation in this country. Once Dems take a greater majority in the House and Senate the firts order of business should be reregulate the media.

6. rather than regulate, break up, and tax to support public broadcasting. Then build a firewall
around PBS & NPR so they aren't subject to political or corporate pressure.

3. Exactly.
And there's still 313 more days of this administration to get through.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that meeting between * and Pelosi. Maybe then I'd know what dirt he's got on her that he won't reveal, as long as impeachment is off the table.

4. Ode to the Nancy Disaster
(Part the Third)

Oh, our Nancy Disaster,
Did you read the news today?
Oh, our Nancy Disaster,
Why would they impeach Spitz for just a lay?

Oh, our Nancy Disaster,
How many U.S. servicemen and women did you kill today?
Sitting in your Congress office,
Taking away the people's only Constitutional way?

19. Oops. I didn't know that was a violation of the rules. Too late to delete.

Is it okay if it was just poetry? Poetry doesn't really mean anything anyway.

There. How's that?

What about that old chant, "Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?" Or is that different.

20. I didn't say you had to delete it. I just thought it was a creepy bit of censorship
probably because it stepped on too many Hillary toes.

10. Welcome to DU
thats the way I see it too. There is a lot more to come out on this story and something tells me that someone is very nervous because spitzer didn't take the bait, he came forward with an apology instead. This isn't the was it was planned. I just hope he isn't suicided before it all comes out.

hypocrisy than his diddling with a prostitute, as a Prosecutor he went after prostitution big time while participating himself. Having said that, if any of the Dem's who refuse to impeach Bu$h start commenting in depth on Spitzer perhaps they ought to be called on their lopsided priorities.

In elected officials breaking the law and ask if this means she will be signing on to the cheney impeachment bill.
