Fears of strike on Iran rise as admiral quits
The head of the US forces in the Middle East abruptly resigned last night after a magazine claimed he was at odds with the Bush regime over its hardline policy on Iran. In a move likely to sharpen concern that America may be planning military action against Tehran, Admiral William Fallon, head of central command, quit with immediate effect.

1. There is no doubt in my mind that they badly want to attack Iran... They can not...
afford to give up power to a Barack Obama as President, cause they have no idea what will come out once he takes the reins.

2. I was trying to point this out...but the Ferraro-Spitzer Wars were more "interesting" to most here.
Of course, this place was eager to call FALLON a fucking tool when he got that gig, and when I protested, knowing full well where the guy's head is at, I was shouted down. It really is unfortunate that he's gone--he was a bulwark. Bush had better hurry, though--he'll need to gin up that draft NOW if he wants an "invasion-worthy" Army by election day.....

4. "Can't change horses in midstream"
It's pretty obvious that this is a ploy to keep a Republican in the White House, and a disgusting one at that.

There won't be an invasion necessary, we'll just bomb the hell out of them and call it war.

3. I'm in an email war with a real live neocon right now.
Terra terra, hate hate, war war, all the time. Make no mistake, he and his fellows are chomping at the bit to hit Iran NLT this December.
