So - THAT is what it takes to be impeached?
In the grand scheme of things, I shake my head in wonder.

George W/ Bush LIED to congress, and the world, invaded a nation under utterly false pretenses, instituted TORTURE as a regular interrogation procedure, spies illegally on americans, and the list goes on and on and on, many many times he violates the constitution, breaks laws, and then either rewrites them or uses his executive powers to limit those laws so he and his ilk are exempt from prosecution......and gets away with it.

And Elliott Spitzer, a man who fought Wall Street against corruption is found to have hired prostitutes--and the overwhelming orgasmic glee of the media as it is announced that he must resign or face impeachment ensues.

He broke the law. Fair enough. All night on the news was Spitzer this, and Spitzer that - and the bloodbath of a career and family destroyed is excitedly and happily and smugly discussed.....

Bush breaks the law. And hardly a whisper.

Beyond pathetic. Really.

1. Your point?
Don't you know that the Republican Peter Patrol has discerned that it is okay to impeach only for dip-the-weeny offenses?

But lying to the American people, putting our children into decades of needless debt to enable the corporatists, murdering our own children and those in foreign lands, thumbing his nose at the Constitution, and the list of crimes goes on and on--well, that's just okay.

And apparently, the American people are not mad enough yet to get to Washington and rout the lot.

3. A million counts of murder versus sex. You wonder why we are so violent?
Go the movie theater. You can slaughter hundreds of people and it's good family fun, but one love scene and kids are forbidden to see it. So our kids grow up believing sex is worse than killing, so our president can get away with murdering a million innocent people while a (Democratic) president is impeached and a (Democratic) governor loses his job over sex (and a crime that shouldn't be a crime).

It's hard to have faith that a nation so screwed up can survive.

6. wow, I've never thought of it that way before...
but it totally makes sense, man. I don't understand how lying about a bj is impeachable, but the whole shredding the Constitution thing is ok. Pride goeth before the Fall. It's happened in every great civilization before us. What makes us think we will be different?

5. Yup
This should be the talking point repeated again and again and again.

Why is it acceptable to go after someone for this kind of sexcrime? What the hell is impeachment for? I think that we are going to regret not impeaching the Bush administration for generations to come.

Hoyer, Rahm, Pelosi, and all you other DINO's, the fact that the repugniks are still going to spoil this nation will be on your heads for the next forty years. Great job you friggin shmucks.
