Poll question: Should only Democrats and Republican be allowed to run for office? |
|
There still seems to be a lot of Nader blaming here. Bush stole 2000, and some say 2004 too. Nader is not to blame. (Rat Worm) DLC'er Al From does not blame Nader. Nor should we.
Would you support banning all people except endorsed (R) / (D) from running for office?

1. Any American Citizen over 35 can run but |
|
Nader didn't run to be President. Nader ran because he is an egomaniac who likes to see his picture on the cover of magazines. I invite any viable candidate other then (D) or (R) to run away. I suggest any independent (or other) party groom their strength at the grassroots level. You don't start at the top. I blame Nader for fucking up the 00 election, that was more aligned to his goal then to becoming president.

Nader ran so radical leftists like myself would have someone to vote for. I voted for him in 96 and 2000 in NYS (where my electoral vote always went to the Dem). I felt the the DLC allowed a pretty good liberal (sure he was wrong on the war, but who wasn't?) run in 2004, so I did vote for Kerry.

accurately categorized as a radical leftist but I found no HOPE in Nader's candidacy. And I also could be categorized as an agist and he and McCain are too damned old to be president regardless of their positions.

3. No. They save wear and tear on the nose when the Dems run to the right. |
|
I didn't vote for Nader in '00 or '04, though I was certainly tempted to. I went through the all-to-familiar nose holding ritual.
But, I have voted 3rd Party before without regret. And, this time, I'll be, most likely, writing in a candidate.

5. Unfortunately the real question is |
|
CAN a non-Democrat or Non-Republican run for office?
While we have a few exceptions the vast majority are still within this two party system, which only seems to encourage collusion.
