7. The US media seems to have lost all interest in the ongoing bloodshed in Iraq and Afghanistan |
|
as well as Cheney's evil machinations to get us involved in yet another war in Iran. I guess sex scandals yield higher ratings which trump an informed populace.

10. I'd add that the media has no morality as well. They were complicit in the Bush pre-war pep rally. |
|
They failed to ask the questions that should have been asked and apparently felt no remorse for failing to do so as well.
We now hear about the "success" of the surge based upon a reduction in violence, but nothing about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Iraq, the ongoing refugee crisis, the Iraqi and American lives destroyed as a result of this conflict, the lack of a political solution, the sorry state of Iraq's infrastructure, not to mention the near fatal damage to our economy.
I have lost all respect for the vast majority of the corporate media.

the media are fixated on Spitzer, Clinton, Obama, Ferraro and themselves. The Bush cabal could be getting away with murder.

9. I have no doubt it was timed |

There is so much speculation out there and this is what we always get , the story changes from day to day and then it evaporates . We never get to thr truth , never .
We were also handed the idea that since this is an election without a vice running that we needed two years of campaigns yet what happened , they reduced the candidates to three in a matter of a month once things got going . I ask why did we need two years ?

17. No it isn't. In Free Countries, the few that are left, it would be "our" business. |
|
We, however, live in Imperial Amerika. Like our sister BushPutinist (or whatever you want to call it, this latest incarnation of Totaliatarianism doesn't have a name because it is still too busy camoflauging itself) Nations, Russia and China, nothing our Rulers do is the business oftheir Subjects.

14. Two words: MEDIA BLACKOUT. They're not covering the real news for a big reason. |
|
My hunch is Cheney and loyalists are laying the groundwork for another push to get the US into open war with Iran. Cheney is probably going to meet with warhawks in Tel Aviv to tell them his intentions. With the obstacle of Admiral Fallon removed, they have one more opportunity to push war.
