Bush: "The House bill may be good for class action trial lawyers"

President Bush Discusses FISA

<snip>

Companies that may have helped us save lives should be thanked for their patriotic service, not subjected to billion-dollar lawsuits that will make them less willing to help in the future. The House bill may be good for class action trial lawyers, but it would be terrible for the United States.

5. He started his illegal spying before 9-11.
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 10:08 AM by Marr
Why doesn't anyone ever point that out on television? It completely demolishes all of his arguments.

Bush and the members of his administration are on record as saying that 9-11 'woke them up to the danger of international terrorism', as opposed to nation states. People like Richard Clarke have corroborated those statements, saying the Bush team was not focussed on terrorism at all prior to 9-11.

So why the illegal spying? Who were they spying on, since it clearly wasn't suspected terrorists?

6. If they've done nothing wrong...
it's not bad for anyone. Why if the court ruled they are following the law would these companies stop helping? If it's legal then why is he worried? Kind of screams "We broke the law!" don't it.
