I know why the National Republican Congressional Committee's funds disappeared....
they gave them to a Republican to watch over.

They are doing the same thing to our Nation's resources.
Make sure you reject people's unfounded notions that Republicans are fiscally responsible or more financially responsible than the Democrats.

2. My odd little story
Just as Bush came into office my bank, that takes care of my retirement fund, called and said they were going to move it around to protect it more. I asked them why and they said because Bush was coming in to office. I almost fainted. I asked them. "Are you telling me you do not trust a GOP President to keep the eco. safe?' And I sort of got no real ans. but they were going to change my fund . The fund stopped growing after 8 years of growth under Clinton, but I did not lose principal only income. It is now back paying the reg. income, took over 6 years, and has a little growth. So much for the 'smart on money' GOP. To be safe we must have laws that will over see our banks etc. A free for all capital based society just does not work any more than a controlled govt style like USSR works.

9. Key Bank
I was called from Cleveland where they do the trusts. I really got a big kick out of it as one always hears how great the GOP are with money and then one only has to open the paper and look at the mess a GOP congress and WH has done it is hard to believe.

5. A better motto would be" The Republican Party: Bad for your wallet and bad for America"

6. Could that money have gone to the SBVT?
Here is the NYT article that does NOT say that - but it does give information that could lead to drawing that conclusion:

Here are the 2 paragraphs that do it (one is middle article, the other at the end.

"He said an investigation with the help of PricewaterhouseCoopers had “found a pattern in which Mr. Ward would transfer funds by wire out of the N.R.C.C. to outside committees.” From those outside committees, Mr. Kelner said, money was then transferred to “personal and business accounts of Mr. Ward.

But what business was Ward in - the ONLY one mentioned was:

"Mr. Ward was named treasurer of the national Republican committee in 2003 after serving for several years as an assistant treasurer. He had also been a partner in a political consulting firm, Political Compliance Services, that worked in 2004 on behalf of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group behind advertisements attacking the military record of Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, the Democratic presidential nominee."

The Republican quoted at the end of the story then bemoans the fact that these wired transactions were allowed.
