So Senator Stevens just entered a bill that demands ANWR be opened when
Oil reaches $125 per barrel and stays at that rate for five consecutive days. Nothing like trying to capitalize on people experiencing hard times..

2. The whole problem with the ANWR debate
Is that most of the actual oil is on the Canadian side - and Canada isn't opening ANWR - it's not even a consideration, no one has even suggested it.

8. Maybe but
It's hundreds of square miles and covered in permafrost: The drilling would be so expensive that $125 a barrel wouldn't cover it.

5. Not to mention a perverse incentive.
Oil companies want $125/barrel oil, right?
Oil companies want at the ANWR, right?
Oil companies control the price of oil, right?

The public wants cheap oil
The public wants ANWR preserved

It's pretty clear who Stevens works for.
