Does what this president says make much difference?

This is a straightforward question. My understanding of his impact on worldwide economics is very limited. He's speaking now. Does it matter?

There's that.

4. And I had to google it -- LOL.

Interesting lack of replies. I wonder, do his statements resonate in Europe? Comments by most former presidents in our times did, but....?

10. I have a friend whose father is German
He said that if she wants to come visit, she should come before November because IF (big if there) McCain is elected there will probably be riots and no Americans will be welcome. He also said that the talk there is that if another Repub is elected, Europe will be looking to close the American bases.

Europeans hate Bush, and by extension, Republicans. Even though they have conservatives there, they're nothing like ours. They hate the arrogance and the war and the greed. It's really sickening to watch it from the outside. My friend's father has offered to let her and her husband move in with him until * and company are gone. They are definitely watching this election.

12. Interesting. We heard similar sentiments in Ireland in

2005, especially about Iraq. At that point, though, the U.S. role in world economy (still?) mattered.

16. While America wrings its collective hands when trading closes on a bush- spoke-day,
Havocdad always says: Don't worry. Somebody's buying tomorrow.

8. Usually he starts a downward trend in the stock market. Nothing Bush says makes
a difference on any topic.

9. I think we're beyond the point where he can make any *POSITIVE* difference.
He still retains his often-proved capacity to make
a *NEGATIVE* differemce, though.
