All we had to do is keep religion in the church and home where it belongs and out of politics .

All we needed to do was elect people who had some experience with telling the truth and make certain who ever advises them were coming from somewhere realistic as we don't vote for advisors yet they have tremendous influence over policy .

Most of all , all we had to do is be honest with ourselves and others and to be fair .

All we had to do is not look at popular figures as some sort of self made gods or hero's .

If this were the case we would not be this hell on earth all these years .

However this is exactly what people have done and will continue to do and this is exactly why things will never change . You do see how things have gotten progressively worse year after year with a dose of hope tossed in there just to keep the games going .
