Sunday’s Breakfast Menu, March 16

By Sarah Wheaton

Two days after some of President Bush’s most blunt statements to date about the current economic difficulties, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson is on Sunday talk duty. He is slated for ABC’s “This Week,” CNN’s “Late Edition” and “Fox News Sunday.”

Representative Nancy Pelosi, the House speaker who has been trying to get the campaigns to chill out, is also booked on “This Week.”

Several of the shows are featuring surrogate battles. Leon Panetta, chief of staff to former President Bill Clinton, will speak for his ex-boss’s wife on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” with Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts representing Senator Barack Obama. On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Bill Bradley, former presidential candidate and senator and current Obama supporter, squares off against Representative Nita Lowey of New York. “Fox News Sunday” has Senator Chuck Schumer of New York for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut for Mr. Obama. Finally, on CNN, Wolf Blitzer has Senator Dianne Feinstein of California for Mrs. Clinton debating Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont.

“Late Edition” also features more economic talk with two campaign economic advisers: Gene Sperling of the Clinton team and Douglas Holtz-Eakin with Senator John McCain’s campaign.

1. DiFi stumping for Clinton, vs Pat Leahy for Obama...
That speaks volumes, doesn't it?;)
