Two issues that we CANNOT lose with in the general election |
|

HEALTH CARE - there is no excuse for a country as rich as the United States to have so many people without adequate health care. People should not have to sell their houses and bankrupt their retirement pensions in order to afford health care. And god forbid if you don't have any assets at all - you're fucking screwed if you need help. This is something that practically EVERYONE in this country can relate to.
ECONOMY/MINIMUM WAGE/WORKER REFORM - With inflation rising and energy costs skyrocketing, it's insulting to ask people to accept paltry raises to the minimum wage, which are already outdated by the time they're implemented. We need to tie the minimum wage to inflation. We need a real living wage. We need to put a cap on runaway corporate profits and bonuses. There is no excuse for corporate fatcats to be raking in billions in profits while their poorest workers scrape by. It's criminal the way that they force their businesses to slash employee hours so that they don't qualify for health care and other benefits.
With these two issues as our primary issues, we cannot lose.

Why should any patriot vote for members of Congress who voted for the so-called "Patriot" Act?

4. I thinks its just the economy. |
|
Health Care: Most people have health care and worry that government control will only raise their rates.
Minimum wage/worker reform: Are mostly non-issues for most Americans.

5. The environment has been there as an issue for dems to win since 2000. But |
|
because the corporatists are on the other side it doesn't get any play. Environmental issues ALONE could win someone the election...evangelicals are getting on board, it has to do with energy security, safety for children, creating jobs, responsibility, accountability, fair trade, etc...
Big plus for dems that's allowed to stay on the sidelines....
