I doubt we will see a boycott of the Chinese Olympics
I would love to see peace loving countries sit out the Olympics since China has such a poor human rights record.

But, unfortunately, we care more about our poisoned toys and cheap American (made in China) clothing then we do about human rights. We, America, will surely participate in the Olympics.

Since we are going to participate, could we at least have our athletes wear a Tibetan flag on their outfits? No no, that would be too confrontational. The Chinese now own us and we will do their bidding for them.

I still think something should be done. Perhaps peace loving countries could utilize saffron and maroon, the colors of HH Dali Lama, into their outfits. I don't think that is too much to ask.

Just think of it - America in saffron, Canada in maroon, Iraq in saffron, Japan in maroon...

Anything less would be uncivilized...

3. Don't Tick Off The Chinese
They OWN us, and if they cut off our Funding, we're really in trouble.

So be nice to them, the way you would an arrogant boss. And teach your kids to do the same, because if you think they own us now, in another decade or two, things will be really bad.

4. Not now that we dropped them from the Human Rights violator's list
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 11:00 AM by DesertRat
BEIJING, March 12 -- Human rights activists on Wednesday decried the U.S. State Department's decision to drop China from its list of the world's worst human rights violators, saying that China's crackdown on dissent is getting worse as it prepares to host the Olympic Games in August.

(snip)

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, while not commenting directly on the State Department report, told reporters Wednesday that foreign leaders, including President Bush, have expressed support for the Beijing Olympics by committing to attend the opening ceremony. He warned that activists who wanted to tarnish China's image "will never get their way."

7. Great idea but I doubt it will work. Like you said - China owns us. Who
cares if 100 Tibetans have been killed.
