Holy Cow, have you seen this? Elliot Spitzer silenced by Wall Street?
http://www.gregpalast.com/elliot-spitzer-gets-nailed/

"This week, Bernanke’s Fed, for the first time in its history, loaned a selected coterie of banks one-fifth of a trillion dollars to guarantee these banks’ mortgage-backed junk bonds. The deluge of public loot was an eye-popping windfall to the very banking predators who have brought two million families to the brink of foreclosure.

Up until Wednesday, there was one single, lonely politician who stood in the way of this creepy little assignation at the bankers’ bordello: Eliot Spitzer.

Who are they kidding? Spitzer’s lynching and the bankers’ enriching are intimately tied.

How? Follow the money."

I just read this and am, unfortunately not surprised...

2. Coincidence Theory:

"Coincidence Theory: By shear chance things just happen repeatedly and coincidentally to benefit their interests without any conscious connivance by them, which is most uncanny. There is also: Stupidity Theory, Innocence Theory, Momentary Aberration Theory, Incompetence Theory, Unintended Consequences Theory and Innocent Cultural Proclivities Theory."

3. But of course..
.. Spitzer did nothing to bring about his
own downfall. Sheesh.

I do agree that banks and corporations need
regulating in the worst way, but this cannot
be brought about by one man playing hero.

It requires the will and activism of the people,
in masses.. demanding and getting the true
representation that we need and deserve!

4. I have some questions regarding how closely he was monitored for "structuring"...
...but at the end of the day--if he didn't purchase sex from prostitutes, there would be no "getting" him.

We lose another soldier in the Fight...

6. Lionel on AAR is talking about this.
Some say Spitzer and others were gearing up to investigate the bond raters. Exposing Spitzer was a warning shot across their bough.

11. please.
spitzer was stupid to help them nail him.

but they were out for him, and if hadn't been this way, it would have been another. you can bet that they were monitoring him on ALL levels, for something, anything to derail him.

too bad he was so stupidly cooperative in that respect.

it just bears repeating, "all men are dogs". i know. i am one. woof!

especially when the little head thinks for the big head...

i think spitzer should go on the attack.

he can admit his stupidity, his arrogance, and his lack of concern for his family.

but he can also bring all this out.

you know that every news outlet in existence would LOVE to shove a microphone in his face...

done right, he could actually do what he started out to do.

7. They have a big problem with socialized medicine,
but absolutely no problem with socialized banking.

I really don't want my tax dollars going to bail out banks.
