Freeze at Union Station in DC to bring attention to the war - pictures

Tonight about 200 activists went to Union Station in DC and at exactly 5:25, froze into place for exactly 5 minutes, one minute for every year of the war.

This lady held out flyers about tomorrow's 5th anniversary events and people came by and took them as she stood in place frozen.




The police were there of course




And after the freeze, the activists chanted "END THE WAR!" "BRING THEM HOME" for much longer than 5 minutes.






The media did some interviews




It was a really neat action and seemed to get the attention of the people in Union Station. I heard a couple people walk by me saying "Looks like some kind of protest." "What a neat idea." And a couple young kids ran over and joined us in the freeze.

Please do something tomorrow to bring attention in your community to 5 years of illegal war. :hi:

I SAW this news station's camera inside Union Station. I SAW this station filming the freeze. And I just watched coverage on the DC local Fox station.

Why would this station lie about this? That makes no sense. :wtf:
