That sooner rather than later, we come to the realization that those in power have played us against each other for decades. In the meantime, they've looted this country on our backs, while we keep up our petty squabbling.

Working/middle-class whites have nothing to fear from working/middle-class blacks. "The Man" is playing all of us.

And those immigrant Latino workers everyone's so paranoid about? Rich pigs are exploiting them. They're not "taking" jobs from anyone. If the rich pigs had to pay more for the labor, they wouldn't be paying anyone.

And what's worse, sexism or racism? Neither, and who the f**k cares anyway - they both suck!

And about those freaked out that a same-sex marriage somehow threatens their male-female marriage.....Get real! And if you voted for one of those discriminatory amendments to your state constitution - SHAME ON YOU!

Will we get there? I don't know. I certainly hope so, because we have to UNITE, people!!! They may have the power and the money, but we've got the numbers: There are a hell of lot more of us than them.

As the great Howard Zinn said: To omit or to minimize these voices of resistance is to create the idea that power only rests with those who have the guns, who possess the wealth, who own the newspapers and the television stations. I want to point out that people who seem to have no power, whether working people, people of color, or women -- once they organize and protest and create movements -- have a voice no government can suppress.

I want to be part of that last part... where we organize and protest and have that voice no government suppresses part.

4. They've got to keep us scared of something, even if it's each other.
Otherwise they have very little power over us.

5. always have....
"...those in power have played us against each other for decades."....and they will continue to play us until we refuse to be manipulated and reject their game....

...."Will we get there?"....absolutely, we're doing it right now....for the first time in history, we can talk directly with each other over vast distances and pool ideas....we can kick ideas or problems around, ask each other questions, compare notes, negotiate, argue, find solutions, and by-pass those in power....

....we all basicly want the same things out of life....we now have to create a new system to deliver those things to everyone on the planet....oneday this medium will be instrumental in the creation of a true New World Order; an Order in which we will understand, participate, agree/disagree, and do it all without corrupt institutions....

6. !
Yes, yes, yes! And this was what I liked best about Obama's speech. He connected the dots, placing the final blame where it belongs, on thos who divide us in order to exploit us.
