why do CNN anchors quote Rush Limbaugh all the time?

I was watching some dumb anchor (Female, don't know her name) on with David Gergen, Bay Buchanan and some third panelist (african american guy I've seen before but can't name) and the anchor kept quoting Limbaugh over and over again as if his opinion is relevant. It was so infuriating. Why do they legitimize that hateful fossil?

Understand that the media is not independently owned. Each major outlet is owned by a major corporation, often with interests far beyond the media, including the defense industry. They don't buy media outlets to make money off the media, they buy media outlets to run commercials for the party who will give them the biggest tax breaks.

There are some times when they get caught up in a story and don't cast it in political tones. But overall, they keep their eyes on the prize. Limbaugh helps their cause, so they promote him.

He said, grumpily, "...It's called HEADLINE NEWS..." and complained that he didn't want any opinions from Glenn Beck. I was so happy he said that, and I just agreed, "I think so, too".

My boyfriend and I don't discuss politics very often, and I think it might be due to his deeply rooted family policy to avoid politics, to avoid arguments.
My boyfriend wants just facts, and only the facts, and he will decide for himself. I like that about him.

Rush Limpballs is one of my favorite right-wing nut-job radio comedians. Unfortunately, the MSM seems to think he is a useful pundit instead of a fat gas bag of hot air. And it doesn't stop there. Seemed like every time I watched some MSM news show I was being punished with a parade of such idiots; Falwell, Dobson, some nameless dumbass from the Heritage Foundation, etc. So, I pretty much gave them all up - even CNN.
