I read in one of the threads that fox was chosen as the pool control for the Dem Convention.??.... |
|
Has this been confirmed by outside corroboration. Or any official release anywhere.
Needless to say this raised my interest when I saw it, but before you tune out to why, because you assume what I'm going to say, read the whole post, There might be a bigger story here.
When I saw it I did a search, to look for information or a confirmation and a very weird pattern began to emerge. The only place I found the info were in blog comments and I mean everywhere, but not at fox or anywhere that I could find. The other weird pattern was almost every post I found was almost identical with FULL CONTACT INFORMATION for the DNC, direct phone lines and email addresses of specific people.
Now comes the thinking part, if this is completely true I can see some point in raising a concern with the DNC directly.
But what if its not true, or even if it is true and there is an organized to direct Democrats enmasse to overwhelm the DNC phones and email servers. Because thats what this will do.
Its like aiming a fire hose into your bathroom sink. Theres no way your not going to destroy the room, the floor probably evey wall and your roof and the result could be analogous to the DNC.
Whats more effective try to rally you troops to attack your opponent, or rally your opponents troops to attack Headquarters.
So now, comes some of the other questions.
Is this a coordinated attack, if it is who would benefit from taking out the DNC communications for the next few days.
If this isn't a coordinated attack why are all the posts so similar in format across such a broad area.
Now that we see that this might be a method of attack, we definitely need to be more attentive to impacts like of information waves and fire hose attacks on any Democratic chain of communications.
So again any official confirmations, and any thoughts on this?

3. I have found the post in hundreds of blogs comments, Saying fox was chosen |
|
to operate the pool cameras and in every case there were direct phone numbers. Since I can't find confirmation any where in main stream media it makes me think this was a a directed attack on the DNC. To get democrats at arms with virtual pitchforks to overwhelm its networks phone and net with traffic.

2. Doesn't the DNC already control press access at its own convention? |

5. There is a post here on DU with the same format. |

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5149828&mesg_id=5149828Now think about this, how do you get thousands of Democrats to overwhelm phones at the DNC for the next 48 hours, then the question becomes why. Im not saying the poster here is part of a conspiracy, he may just be repeating what he has seen as many will, think about the viral nature of this if it is a directed attack at the DNC, you couldn't plan a better script to do it if you were rove himself.

4. The uproar over this is ridiculous. |
|
It doesn't mean Fox gets exclusive coverage of the convention. It menas they own and operate the "general" video feed - usually the straight-on shot of the podium. They have no editorial input - they just own and operate the camera. It's done this way so it doesn't require 5 cameras to show the speeches - just one.
They won't superimpose graphics, they won't in any way "control" what's being seen. All the other networks will have crews and reporters there - it's just that when hte speeches are aired, the video will come from one feed. ABC is doing it for the Republican convention.
This is a normal way of covering a big event like this.

6. Right I understand that Monkey, my point was about the coordinated...... |
|
posting of this on hundreds of blogs comments sections on the web, and the resulting swell hitting the DNC.
Im not talking about or stoking the uproar about FOX quite the opposite, Im trying to pont out the danger of grabbing a phone to "deal with it"

that is curious. It seems to have arisen out of nowhere.
Of course, the blogosphere has been known to overreact before.
