What can we do to help the Tibetan protesters, and Tibetan people? |
|
So much sorrow and solidarity with the Dalai Lama and his people. What can we do to help?
I know it's not easy to avoid buying made in China items, but I am doing my best.
Your ideas please?
Aloha, for peace.

1. Start by finding peace within yourself |
|
I know to many this will sound silly, but really it is the first step to finding peace in the world.

we could make it stop if the world stood up for them. It's the only culture I know that has invested so much energy in praying for the rest of the world, and peace. We really do owe them support, at least I feel that way strongly. I will do what I can.

and hope that as China gets rich, it liberalizes and eventually cares about human rights. Until that distant and unlikely day, Tibet is pretty much up a creek without a paddle.

7. Well, for one thing there needs to be a total boycott of the Olympics |
|
by all democratic nations, unless China agrees to cease and desist and to recognize Tibet's sovereignty. To go on with the games in the face of this and just turn a blind-eye to it would be appalling. We should not let the 2008 games turn into another Berlin 1936.

11. indeed -- it's the same as don't buy 'made in china'. |
|
as long as western currencies flow into china -- china can afford to displace tibetans, uighers and others -- and thereby replacing their history with chinese history.
if that happens -- then all is indeed lost.
