Bush's selective Federal Aid infuriates me.
This Administration's partisanship knows NO bounds. I was truly disgusted at the handling of Katrina. Following that there were tornadoes in the midwest in which equally devastated areas received vastly different amounts of Federal Disaster Aid because certain states had Republican Governors, while other neighboring states had Governors who were Democrats. Guess who received real relief and who received peanuts.

I saw this article today about Texas wildfires.

I don't begrudge Federal Aid to those in need, no natter where their political leanings. Given the Administration's track record of awarding it only to states with Republican Governors, these sentences really were infuriating.

"The wildfire began after President Bush made federal aid available to 70 percent of Texas counties last weekend. Wildfires scorched 133,000 acres across the state Friday."
"At least four homes were destroyed, and bulldozers uprooted grass near the Hidalgo County Jail and an elementary school in hopes of stopping the encroaching flames, authorities said.

Four homes? FOUR! 70% of Texas counties?!
A giveaway to Texas, while Katrina victims, well... you know how that went, and continues.
