BOSTON --

Five people were arrested on Wednesday afternoon after a protest outside
a military recruiting office in downtown Boston.

The protesters were asked to move after they staged a "die in," lying down
on the sidewalk blocking the front door of the Armed Forces Career Center
office at the corner of Tremont and Park streets Wednesday afternoon.
When they did not move, they were arrested.

The group MoveOn.org also planned candlelight vigils on Boston Common and
elsewhere in the city on Wednesday. MoveOn.org is not connected with the
protesters who were arrested earlier in the day.

Wednesday marks the fifth anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. To date,
at least 3,990 members of the U.S. military have died in the conflict.
