Arrogance in its purest form: Dick Cheney´s "... So...?" |
|
The short clip of the recent interview with Dick Cheney, in which he answered "So?" is the most perfect performance of undeniable arrogance which I have ever seen from a public figure.
The scary part is, he is not acting. He is arrogance in its purest form.
With this interview, Dick Cheney has once again proved that the term "democracy" is just a theoretical concept which may be discussed and debated, but not taken seriously in any way, shape, or form by the current governing party.
The truth is out, in just one word:
... So? ...
What would happen if we would follow his example in arrogance?
1) Your mortgage payment is overdue ... So? ...
2) Many people are sick and need medical attention. ... So? ...
3) Millions of people are homeless. ... So? ...
4) Our dependence on foreign oil is too high. ... So? ...
5) The occupation of Iraq is a crime against humanity. ... So? ...
6) We´ve been spending more than we earn for the past 50 years ... So? ...
It would be disastrous for our society if we were as arrogant as Dick Cheney.

Where in Bavaria are you? (I was stationed in Ansbach and Erlangen many moons ago).

6. do VPs get secret service protection after they leave office? |
|
if not, this is something cheney might want to consider. i would never support or condone violence against a public official -- or anyone else, for that matter -- but a lot of people seriously hate dick cheney.
it'll be interesting. while the previous vice president, gore, moves about in public with people usually waving to him and wishing him well, it's almost a given cheney won't have any goodwill.
of course, cheney's the sort of guy who won't move about in public; he'll still slither about in a phalanx of SUVs with blackwater or some other private security force in tow. however, once he's out of office, it probably won't be safe for him to move about. this is one of the most hated men ever to hold office.

19. Everybody thinks he's always underground but that's not true. |
|
What about that time he was standing around in a mall in Denver and some random guy walked up to him and told him he was reprehensible? The guy actualy was able to pat him on the back before, naturally, he was arrested for "assaulting" Darth. I remember also that when I used to wait for my girl firend every evening around 6:30 at the cornor of Conn. & R NW in DC his motorcade came by every time like clockwork. That's not too stealthy. Of course, his is the only motorcade I've even seen with guys hanging out the windows with machine guns pointed at the street, on everyside, front and back.
