LIBBY DISBARRED
Former Cheney Aide Libby Disbarred
Bush Commuted Libby's Prison Sentence Last Year

UPDATED: 11:22 am EDT March 20, 2008

A Washington, D.C., radio station reports that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby Jr., the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, has been disbarred.

A three-judge panel on the D.C. Court of Appeals stripped Libby of his ability to practice law after he was found guilty last year of obstructing the investigation in the CIA leak investigation, WTOP radio reported.

"When a member of the Bar is convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude, disbarment is mandatory," the three judges wrote in their order. "This court has held that obstruction of justice and perjury are crimes of moral turpitude. Since respondent was convicted of each of these offenses, as the Board concluded, disbarment is mandatory under D.C. Code.

Bush commuted Libby's 2 1/2 year federal prison sentence last year.

1. I'm sure they'll find something for him to do.
Maybe he can help Donald Rumsfeld plan for Oil War II: South America...
