I'm watching "Primary" the documentary about JFK and Hubert Humphrey in Wisconsin...
right now.

Wow, JFK was something else. HH seems like he was a helluva guy, but JFK was like a rockstar. The people would go nuts over him, old women would melt when he'd shake their hands. Amazing. Everytime I watch it I'm blown away by the man.

I'm going to watch "The War Room" next. Hey what can I say, I'm in full presidential campaign mode right now, haha. :)

1. Also watch Our Brand Is Crisis
Its about a Bolivian Presidential election but it follow James Carville's consulting firm. Its an eye opener to see them use the same dirty tricks in another country. It makes it easier to spot the BS when its happening to us here.

3. Yep
A few politicians in the past 50 years had that; Bill Clinton, Tommy Douglas, and Pierre Trudeau are 3 that come to mind.

HHH was the Paul Simon (the Senator, not Rhymin' Simon)or Adlai Stevenson of his day; great man, not so great presidential candidate.

5. I got HHHs autograph that time and JFK slept at my uncle's house.
My uncle was a Bostonian Democrat (Lebanese Catholic) who lived in a small town in Wisconsin. When Kennedy came through he stayed at their house. Do candidates do that nowadays?

8. That's awesome
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 03:48 PM by Wetzelbill
My Uncle used to be Mike Mansfield's senate page, so he got to meet virtually all of the senators of the time. My grandfather was president of the National Congress of American Indians, and he knew JFK and RFK pretty well.

on edit:

You know I don't know if anybody stays with people like that anymore. Maybe somebody like Kucinich might still give it a go.
