The more I think about it.... |
|
...the more I believe that the strategy for impeachment coincides with the election. Once Senator Obama or Senator Clinton is nominated, all the transgressions of the White House will be tied to Poor Old Prick John McCain. The evidence will be on full public display without Congress holding hearings which serves to strengthen our chances in November of having an overwhelming mandate and building a veto-proof majority. After our nominee is elected, Representative Conyers will be given the go ahead to smash his mighty gavel over the top of President Insane's administration. This will ultimately lead to removal of both it and Shitstain Shoots-Guy-In-Face during the transition period - which is a helluva lot easier to handle than in the middle of a Presidency - and will lead to criminal charges being levied and finally conviction (and just, shocking, awful and terrible judgment).

....Shitstain knows he is on his way down the crapper, thus the 'So' comment. He looks like a man resigned to spending the remainder of his soulless life in prison and he doesn't care (partly because Satan paid him a courtesy call recently).

4. The media has to cover the election.... |
|
...that's the beauty of the scenario. After the election, a Congressional impeachment hearing will keep the news cycle busy.

5. As just and gratifying as impeachment would be |
|
it is bad politics and would not help elect a Democrat to the WH. The People may not approve of Bush, but "that's what elections are for" would be the outcry.
Oversight confrontation and disregard of Congressional subpenoeas can certainly be escalated to some advantage. This is risky too, but Conyers and Waxman are good. (We just better hope neither one of them has been visiting hookers.)
Above all, we need to keep up the message that McCain is not a viable choice to effect regime change, and that he is quite simply Bush 44.

6. For what could Congress impeach anyone... |
|
...in which they are not (by now) complicit?
That window closed years ago.
