These Little Feet

These little feet

Saw my niece last night to see her new baby, one day old and started to think about what these little feet will have to bear on their journey through life.

Will they have to walk through a dry dessert worse than their ancestors 9 generations ago who came up from Sonora Mexico to found the City of Angels back in 1781 for Spain back when the Colonies were fighting another tyrant named George, King of England.

Or will they walk a frozen terrain here due to a new Ice Age brought on by climate change just like their oldest ancestors uncounted generations ago who walked across the frozen Bering Sea to populate this hemisphere?

Will they have to stand in a soup line vying for food in a wasted environment that went to hell due to the climate change brought on by man's foolish use of energy and depletion of natural resources while polluting the environment beyond Mother Nature's ability to keep the environment in balance? Or is the line the result of a wicked depression the result of an economy ruined by the crooks running Wall Street who bring down our nation and the rest of the worlds economies due to the unregulated and corrupt administration of the market by the thief's both on Wall Street and in D.C.

Will they work in a society free of the evils from corporations wanting to make a killing by building more and more weapons to feed unnecessary wars just for the profit of the few at the expense of the whole world? Or will they be slave labor to keep the status quo of a society bent on torturing the rest of the world to meets its desires and feed its lust for power and riches with the blood of its citizens and those they are oppressing in foreign lands.

Will they walk a world ravaged by cruel epidemics un-treatable due to the loss of modern drugs no longer able to defeat the viruses that have become resistant to drugs due to misuse of the antibiotics on the ranches and farms.

Or will they face a world that will be transformed and mutated by the spread of Genetically Modified Organisms in the seeds that blow in the wind from field to field.

I do not know how they will fare but I do worry about the future and yet still hope hope for the best. I will do my best to help ensure they have a better journey than what the tyrants ruining our democracy have planned for them!
