What do you think of rightwing Bushite corporations (Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia) 'counting' all our votes with "trade secret," proprietary programming code, and virtually no audit/recount controls? And when is full transparency in the counting of our votes going to be restored?

I know that CA Sec of State Debra Bowen has instituted some reforms, and has been more vigilant than the Diebold shill that Schwarzenegger appointed to that office (after the Sec of State who sued Diebold got driven out of it, on bogus corruption charges). But I am still EXTREMELY worried about the EASY insider riggability of our privatized voting system, even with new guarantees of a paper ballot, in Calfornia. California's 1% audit (automatic hand-count, to check on machine fraud) is miserably inadequate in a "trade secret" code system. What that means is that 99% of the ballots are NEVER COUNTED. This is unacceptable. And it is anti-democratic. It is fascism, to have the vote counting in private, corporate, rightwing hands.

Further, many states are doing ZERO auditing (paper ballot or no paper ballot). And we Californians have to suffer the impacts in bad, fascist, warmongering federal policy.

This is an issue of the utmost local and national importance. Your own election is in peril because of it. What will you do about it, if you somehow overcome the highly riggable machines, and win the election? And why has our party leadership gone along with this egregiously riggable, private, secret vote counting system?
