At the Digital Living Room conference today, Gerard Kunkel, Comcast’s senior VP of user experience, told me the cable company is experimenting with different camera technologies built into devices so it can know who’s in your living room.

I can see walking into the living room in the morning and the tv turns itself on and says "Hey angrycarpenter, wanna buy some power tools? Or how about some viagra."

I am not a parent but if the tv turns itself off in the middle of a R rated movie just because a kid happens to come into the room it is treating all of us like children.
