Don't miss Bill Moyers this week!
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/03212008/watch.html

Enter the story of Iraq war veteran Tomas Young who was shot and paralyzed less than a week into his tour of duty. Three years in the making, BODY OF WAR tells the poignant tale of the young man's journey from joining the service after 9/11 to fight in Afghanistan, to living with devastating wounds after being deployed to Iraq instead.

You can watch it online http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/03212008/watch.html

3. Gave me fits
I wanted to go to sleep because I've got a cold. Then Moyers came on and I forced myself to stay up. That story tore me up. I've been thinking about it since Friday.

5. Being so open adds credence to the story, as though it needed any.
Thomas is going to be on my mind for a very long time, as are the others we've never seen. God love them.

Phil adds even more validity to what has been going on and I'm so glad he pushed to have this documentary done. It needs to be seen by as many as possible, as we tend to forget the minute by minute misery these poor souls are going through.

All for a lie.

7. The debate in Congress is a big part of the movie
Edited on Sun Mar-23-08 01:48 PM by proud2Blib
and Moyers didn't show as much of that as the movie does.

Tomas's story was chilling but what makes the movie so powerful, in my opinion, is the back and forth between Tomas struggling to live as a paraplegic and Congress in their bumper sticker debate over the war. It's really great movie making.
