2. Plan to read it in the near future. |
|
I have watched and listened to interviews with her, and just that has convinced me that she's got it right.
The talk at the UW a while back was riveting (YouTube) and a radio interview with Alex Jones was jaw-dropping.

4. I´ve read the book three times, and will read it again |
|
and again and again, because each time I understand the meaning of her message more.
The news makes more sense to me since reading this book.
She presents a clear case, and it´s frightening.
Recommended reading. :-)

6. I find it hard to read any of these books that document the damage done to America |
|
by the gang of criminals that has run things. While they can inform me of specifics I did not know, the overall message is something that anyone with a brain should have been aware of since learning how to read. Besides supporting the dissemination of the information (which is a good thing), what other benefit do people derive from reading these books? I am not saying the information should not be out there. I do believe, however, that the people who need to be exposed to the truth will not read this. They cannot be convinced of the truth by me being able to cite facts and statistics because their faith in the repuke way is just that, a faith-based belief system that does not respond to fact. When I do read something (e.g., David Sirota was the most recent), all that happens is I get even more frustrated and more convinced that the entire system must be torn down and (possibly) rebuilt. It might just be better if the US in its current incarnation simply disappears, at least from the world stage of influence. And maybe, it is our turn to fall into the dustbin of history before we turn the entire planet into dust.

8. Even people with a brain do not always have |
|
both sides of the story, clearly described, in order to figure things out.
Some people figure things out quickly, others need some time to put the pieces together.
I agree with you, this type of information does promote frustration, but it also motivates me to watch closely and make sure to not support the damaging forces.
There´s really not a need to fall into the dustbin of history, maybe just taking out the trash and cleaning up the place will be the best behavior.

began to go thru her book again ---
I noticed that she expresses the opinion that the people who have a vested interest in a less open society are regrouping - but she stresses that their funds are just as massive as before regrouping so next time there well may be a permanent majority -- She notes that we have little time to repeal the laws and roll back the forces.
Naomi also cites how well fascists are able to form public opinion. IMO, this is a large subject re propaganda and well studied and restudied by the right. It took a hell of a long time for anyone writing about our situation to mention right-wing propaganda --- I think Mark Justin Miller was the first. Propaganda is historical; the Vatican being champions at it in times of recent memory --- Inquisition, etal.
She also points out that this is the first open-ended war --- McCain talks about 100 years; Condi Rice says, "a generational commitment." Gore Vidal has always talked about "perpetual war" as being what they are after. And Naomi notes that we are oficially embracing TORTURE.
Coming back to the money . . . Naomi tries to impress upon us the vast amounts of money that has begun to flow from a condition of uninterrupted domestic surveillance and open-ended foreign hostilities.
I would add to that . . . all while the taxpayer's dollar has been devalued to half of the Euro just since Bush became president!
As I said, I haven't gotten thru all of her book as yet --- However, we can all imagine freedom and I think the Founders wrote something self-evident to all of us --- HOWEVER, they also made great compromises with patriarchy, with elitism -- with those who held slaves, with inequality for females and native Americans, etal. Certainly the compromise with slavery set us up for the Civil War --- So, I don't quite agree with Naomi on all the magic of the Founders that she sees.
