Barney Frank (D-MA) doesnt want to Destroy American Lives over Weed? wtf?
if weed is a "dangerous gateway drug" then so is booze and cigerettes (which are more harmful)
saying this..
and then Destroying american adult lives with a gross untruth, should be the crime.

Barney Frank (D-MA) = American Hero.

"NORML Partners with Rep. Barney Frank (D, MA) to Introduce Federal Decriminalization Legislation!"

For the first time in nearly 25 years, NORML is spearheading a campaign in Congress to end the federal prohibition of marijuana. Congress created cannabis prohibition, and the courts say time and again to reformers: ‘Congress is the place to change marijuana laws.’

Therefore, NORML has teamed up with Democratic Congressman Barney Frank of Massachusetts to draft legislation that would strip the federal government of its authority to arrest responsible cannabis consumers.

1. Boy, our state police would hate that.
They love flying around in their helicopters and descending in herds of ATVs to find pot that people have grown.

2. Screw decriminalization!
Legalize it, regulate it, and tax it. No half steps.

onto our wounded "weed-offending" citizens..
and get them out of violent prison systems,
really needs to be a priority until that first goal is achieved.

3. good for him
i am so tired of BOTH major parties being such complete wusses when it comes to this issue. at least medical mj has gotten some acceptance (and i agree with many MJ opponents, that medical MJ is a 'gateway' (to borrow a term) for full mj decrim.

i don't smoke MJ, and i think it's "hella lame" but it should not be criminal. the science (pharmacology) doesn't support it. it's bad policy.

there is a pretty fair %age of people (independents, dems, and repubs) who support decrim, but it is SO hard to overcome momentum and no major candidate has the guts to risk the perceived political suicide of supporting decrim of mj.

6. It's so readily available that legalizing wouldn't have a huge effect on use.
Most of those who want it can get it.

8. 829, 625 people in 2006 alone
That is how many marijuana arrests occured in 2006. legalization would have a huge impact on those people, I think.
