Aspiring Idaho politician changes name to 'Pro-Life'

A Senate candidate has legally changed his name to Pro-Life and will appear on the ballot that way this year, state election officials say.

As Marvin Pro-Life Richardson, the organic strawberry farmer from Letha, 30 miles northwest of Boise, was denied the use of his middle name when he ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2006 because the state’s policy bars the use of slogans on the ballot.

Now, though, officials in the Idaho secretary of state’s office say they have no choice because Pro-Life is his full and only name. He says he will run for the highest state office on the ballot every two years for the rest of his life, advocating murder charges for doctors who perform abortions and for women who obtain the procedure.

Apparently he believes it'll help win him votes to run as "Pro-Life" to take over Larry Craig's seat. I think this is an exciting development in democracy. I may just change my legal name to "Balanced-Budget McCivilrights" and see if I can't become a senator myself. Who's with me?

16. Actually it's from the Old Norse and has something to do
with ruling sternly (and maybe attacking the Irish for gold etc.) The sex part might have to do with captured Irish maidens. We were a wicked people once.

He may not like abortion but I am under no illusion he is "Pro-Life". I am sure he is for the Death Penalty, the "war", guns, and tobacco. Republicans are for those things, hands down..and yet have the audacity to say they are "Pro-Life"

Meet Byron "Low Tax" Looper of Tennessee.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byron_Looper

Byron (Low Tax) Looper (born Byron Anthony Looper on September 15, 1964), is a former Republican politician in Tennessee. In order to advance his political career, he legally changed his middle name from Anthony to "(Low Tax)". After being convicted for the October 1998 murder of his election opponent, incumbent Tennessee State Senator Tommy Burks, he is now serving a life sentence in Tennessee state prison.
