Serious business: Bush hosts Bassmaster champs at WH
Always focused on important matters of state, Bush makes time to host the 2008 Bassmaster Classic Champion and 2008 Women's Bassmaster Tour Champion.

Bush: This is a good, clean sport. It's a sport that requires good conservation in order to make sure our fisheries are good, and I love to welcome the champs here. And so we're glad you're here. The people of Louisiana and Texas are proud of you.

2. He would have made a great First Lady wouldn't he?
or perhaps King. He just loves all of this meaningless symbolic crap that goes along with the office. He thrives on it. He thinks that's what prezidentin' is all about.

7. I happen to LOVE tournament bass fishing!
A lot of bass tournaments are "pro-am." Amateur fishers who want to compete in the tournament will sign up--I'm sure there's an entry fee, but that's fine. After they've set the pro field, they'll draw one amateur per pro boat. At the weigh-ins after each day's fishing, the total catch per boat--both anglers contributing to it--is tabulated. I don't know of any other sport that lets people come in off the street and play on the team.

I do a little work with "Warriors On The Water." It's a neat organization. They sanction pro-am bass tournaments for soldiers, and they like to bring in national-level pros as much as they can.

If you get a chance to go to a BASSmasters tournament, check out Marty Stone's boat. I worked on that one, and it's really nice.
