I've never seen ONE McCain bumper sticker, yard sign, NUTHIN' |
|
OK I know I live in L.A. and all but heck I've seen Romney & Huckster gear once in a while -- and the occasional "Viva Bush" idiot. Lots of Ron Paul stuff still floating around, and of course, TONS of Obama & healthy amount of Hillary bumper stickers.
But McCain, nada, zip, zilch! I just think it's so odd. You look on the GOP forums etc. and it seems like NOBODY is excited about this guy!

barackobama.com will sell signs, buttons, shirts. I buy the buttons in bulk very cheap and pass them out to those who comment on the one that I wear. It is amazing to see how happy you can make someone for .50!! I always pass two along, one for my new friend to give away. Winning the hearts and minds, two buttons at a time. peace, Kim

3. I agree. And, that's why I don't buy the MSM reports that |
|
EITHER Hillary or Obama would be neck-and-neck with McCain.
Sometimes the 'anecdotal reports' say the most. What you have observed sort of bares that out.
Several weeks ago someone posted that they had just been to both a McCain event and, then later that same night, to an Obama event. She and her son had gotten free tickets so, they went to both.
She described the McCain event as "several dozen older people, mostly coservatives or vets, and zero enthusiasm. And, McCain was very slow moving and appeared much older than he does on TV"
But, the Obama event was described as "Wildly exciting. Several thousand people, all waiting in line hoping to get in" + "Great energy and enthusiasm and hope"

I know it's going to be very hard for our nominee to win here now. People I talk to are just disgusted with everyone *except* the GOP, who only took away half of the delegates and even hosted a debate here.

I was driving from PA into NJ on Route 78 eastbound on my way to work in the corporate hell that Central NJ is and saw it plain as day. I generally don't comment on a person's appearance, but he looked every bit like you would expect a 40-something, Repug-voting corporate drone would.

Heck, would have even taken some of the youth vote from Obama. I mean I didn't like him that, but when he was in those debates he came off as the more reasonable one by far.

Or being the clever devils they are, they simply leave the W04 stickers as is because it IS more of the same isn't it?
edit - grammatical plural violation of is/are

I have the same reaction when I see Bush/Cheney '04 bumperstickers. I mean, it's bad enough that you voted for them, but if you still have their bumpersticker on your car, you're a serious idiot.

39. I saw a single Fred Thompson sticker once |
|
It was stuck on the back of an older Chevy Caprice or Buick Roadmaster who's driver was a complete idiot.
I was behind him, waiting to turn left. He had pulled up so far at the red light that he was no longer on the pressure sensor, so he didn't get the green arrow. And ruined my timing. Instead of falling neatly behind him as the green arrow came on and we both turned left, we both got a regular green light and had to wait a long time for a break in traffic to turn left.
Clueless.

|
I see the occasional Huck or Paul sticker (the Paul ones were omnipresent before the primary, the Huck ones all showed up the weekend before) and there are still Dubya stickers around (more of the W04 than the Bush/Cheney ones, I think they must be hard to get off) but I have seen absolutely zero McCain merch, and I do a lot of driving, so if there were much to see out here I'd have seen it. Hell, I saw a Dole/Kemp sticker from '96 a while back, but I haven't seen a McCain supporter anywhere.
