Bush Politcal DOJ Announces Another Dem Governor Prosecution Months Before Election: Puerto Rico
Appalling! Just appalling. We know what deal Mukasey made now. No special prosecutor for anything. No one in the Bush administration testifies before Congress for anything. Torture is A-OK. Gitmo stays where it is. And all the political prosecutions that Rove and Gonzo had planned go forward.

Here is the link. The charges are the usual nebulous ones. Conspiracy and lying to an investigator. That means bullshit.

MIAMI — Aníbal S. Acevedo Vilá, the governor of Puerto Rico, has been charged with 19 criminal counts related to the financing of three political campaigns from 1999 to 2004, including conspiracy to violate federal campaign laws, wire fraud and illegally using campaign funds for his personal use, according to a federal indictment unsealed on Thursday.

It is open season on Democrats.

I think the indictments were probably thrown out now because of the Philly/Puerto Rico connection as in these are two more scheduled Dem primaries, so there will be people involved who have endorsed or may endorse either Obama or Hillary.

The GOP probably had loads of fun watching the Obama supporters cheer and applaud as Spitzer was forced to step down for a crime that men are usually never even charged with (and sure enough he did not face charges) all because he was a Clinton superdelegate and this would mean one less for Hillary. They are probably hoping to witness the same thing here, with the Obama people saying "Alright, one less Hillary superdelegate" and the Hillary people saying "This helps us in PR!". And if the Obama and Hillary camps repeat that recent history, we can expect more DOJ phony baloney indictments of superdelegates by the DOJ, with the Bush secure in the knowledge that there will be no united Democratic opposition because we dun been divided and conquered.
