US Military Deaths in Iraq at 4,004
(03-27) 16:38 PDT , (AP) --

As of Thursday, March 27, 2008, at least 4,004 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes eight military civilians. At least 3,261 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.

The AP count is four more than the Defense Department's tally, last updated Thursday at 10 a.m. EDT.

The British military has reported 176 deaths; Italy, 33; Ukraine, 18; Poland, 21; Bulgaria, 13; Spain, 11; Denmark, seven; El Salvador, five; Slovakia, four; Latvia, three; Estonia, Netherlands, Thailand, Romania, two each; and Australia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, South Korea, one death each.

The latest identifications reported by the military:

_ Four Army soldiers died Monday in Baghdad from wounds suffered in an explosion Sunday. All were assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

Killed were Pvt. George Delgado, 21, Palmdale, Calif.; Staff Sgt. Christopher M. Hake, 26, Enid, Okla.; Pfc. Andrew J. Habsieger, 22, Festus, Mo.; and Spc. Jose A. Rubio Hernandez, 24, Mission, Texas.
