Who in Their Right Mind Will Go See Oliver Stone's GWB Movie?
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 08:07 PM by abernste
Go here if you don't know what I'm talking about: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080326/film_nm/banks_dc_1

That being said, what is the possible audience??????

It could basically go one of two ways:

1. If it's a negative portrayal of Shrub (or neutral, which is pretty much the same thing) none of the crazy wingnuts will go. However, those of us who hate the guy (i.e., 81% of the country) aren't likely to go either. Frankly, I despise the man and just want him to go away. I don't want to spend $10 bucks and 2 hours of my life being reminded of how much he just sucks.

OR

2. If it's a positive portrayal (i.e., fiction), the crazy wingnuts may go, but there's just not enough of them to make a box-office success.

6. Whoa
Wow. While Oliver Stone's WTC was a good movie, I can't imagine this story would have anything even remotely likable in it.

13. Stone
When critic Pauline Kael retired, she said she was looking forward to never having to sit through an Oliver Stone movie again.

14. Mrs. Bush the first
They've hired Ellen Burstyn to play Barbara Bush. I honestly don't know why they didn't just hire Nicholson and put him in drag. The resemblance would be closer and hey, Travolta got an Oscar Nom for Hairspray.
