The importance of Code.... and why we have to decipher it
make no mistake about it, republicans use code. Why? The agenda is not what most of us would agree with. In fact, most americans don't even if they vote against their self interest. So the GOP has developed code that the insiders know to define us.

It is time to once again deconstruct the code.

We all have the code words by the way... so join in with a marvelous thread to decode.

Free Markets= Laizze Faire Economics, and no regulation

States Rights= keep things the way they are and keep the feds away from here (whatever that is) to be ignored in cases such as the 2000 election.

Activist Judges= They are actually interpreting the Constitution in ways that do not help us or we don't agree with.

Liberal Judges+ an open attack on the judiciary.

Presidential Powers+ Imperial Presidency

Latte Drinking Liberal mostly East Coast big city Liberal... might or might not be expanding to any big city liberal....

Fell free to add

2. Upper Westside liberals?
"The only people who think this wasn't a victory are Upper Westside
liberals, and a few people here in Washington." (Charles Krauthammer,

4. That must be a new one, but taking a stab perhaps some of the
college profs in the university, or NYC liberals... aka Randhi Rhodes and her type...

:-)

I think one of the burroughs is known as the upper west side.

34. The boroughs are
Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Staten Island.

You're on track with university thought; Columbia, Barnard, Manhattan School of Music, Jewish and Union Theological Seminaries are ALL located in the quarter. A veritable HOTBED of academic types!!!

Translation: democrats think they know better than YOU -- and of course, YOU are just as good as they are, darn it all; so vote republicon (smirk) and prove that liberals really do know a hell of a lot more than you because they have not Assumed the Position and are not slogging down the corporate media propaganda.

Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 09:16 PM by Cronus Protagonist
I stayed there for ten days, a few blocks from the Apollo Theatre. I'm not a New Yorker either, which is why I was wondering why Harlem isn't the Upper West Side... looking to know more myself, if any NYC denizens can help.

US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Tuesday that America's Social Security program for the retired is "financially unsustainable" and needs an urgent overhaul.

Translation, we want to privatize the SS system as we managed to force both Chile and Argentina to do... this is Chicago School Economics

9. Maybe I would add, the attacks against the so called Hollywood Elite.
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 09:12 PM by Mike03
The people who make films no doubt are targets of code. EDIT: Cut some paragraphs here.

And I can't speak for anyone other than the few people in the film industry have been fortunate enough to know, but it is just plain wrong to suggest that the makers of entertainment such as TV or cinema have more power than they do. It is absurd. All artists have are opinions and hopes and ideals.

And, ON EDIT, I fear my response was way off topic. And if so, I'm sorry.

which we all have heard many a times... so this one I think I have narrowed it to SOCIALIST, the horror.

After all them socialists will stop this concentration of wealth....

And when they go for broke bring out the dreaded C word (Commie) which has been an old stand bye to mean workers and working class and enemy since the oh Red Scare

28. On those "strict contructionalists"
Would they be for or against torture and warrantless wiretapping? IMO, against because that's what the constitution says. They would also be against federal funding of faith-based initiatives. I think we should stop calling them strict constructionalists and call them what they really are: reactionary republicans.

29. But if you are a republican this code means the constitution does not change
it is written in stone and anything after the bill of rights is not valid, so we can still own slaves, put it side by side with states rights... gets ugly, doesn't it?

36. Is the U.S. Constitution Terrorist? According to the FBI it is...
"What the FBI agents and police officers are to look for include "Someone who makes numerous references to the U.S. Constitution." So if a highway patrol officer flashes his lights and orders you to pull over to the side and stop, and he says he will arrest you because the bumper sticker on your car says "Preserve the Bill of Rights," and you say you have a Constitutional right to free speech, he could brand you a terrorist suspect."
