Proud To Be A Democratic Party Member |
|
Don't hear that too often do we?
The other night I spoke to my local council and told them I was proud to be a Democrat. And asked for a moment of silence to think about the 4,000 dead soldiers in Iraq.
Then claimed how proud we now have a Dem congressperson and proud that we will have a Dem president a year fom now.
Everyone there, except the R's, said they were glad to hear some good news for a change. And it rattled the R's to hear someone so loudly and proudly proclaim their Democratic allegiance.
We don't proclaim it enough. Sure, we aren't perfect. But it is who we are.

1. Me too. Our Party is the only one that has ever done anything good for the American People. |
|
And that always makes me very proud.

2. We are a party to be proud of! |
|
We come from a tradition of great values and heroic leaders.
The current crop of politicians are not the Democratic party. WE are the Democratic Party. Congressman Kucinich is who I believe reflects the real Democratic Party. I believe we need to join his efforts to reclaim the Democratic Party from the Corporations. His presidential platform and legislation in Congress is precisely what the Democratic Party needs to be focusing on right now. If we have politicians, even "Democratic", that have been ignoring the Constitution, enabling Bush, and aiding in the coverup of 9/11 lies, illegal wiretapping etc., they must be thrown out of office. We have so many great activists at DU, if we worked together and helped each other in our districts across the country, we can elect politicians that reflect our values. Hillary/Obama is a done deal. If we put as much energy focusing on the Congressional races now, we will make progress. I am proud to be a liberal, and I demand our Democratic politicians start feeling the same way. If you have a great Congressperson who is running for office- please post about them here www.peacecandidates.com

5. I'm proud to be a socialist... |
|
...but I'm happy to lend my democrat friends my vote in view of the utter lack of a meaningful leftist movement in this country.
